There is no doubt that CEA leadership feels that it has done an effective
job pushing back against the onslaught brought on by the politically - driven Common
Core State Standards initiative, the unproven and rushed change in standardized testing requirements, the systematic yet false narrative
of failing
schools and ineffective teachers, and the questionable storing and sharing
of private, personal, and confidential information on students and their families.
To facilitate those relationships, the panel suggested increasing the numbers
of school counselors and mental health professionals who serve students; freeing those professionals from other administrative responsibilities so that they can focus on the
core functions
of their
jobs; placing more
school resource officers in
schools; and training educators to create healthy
school climates, use positive behavioral intervention and supports, and promote students» social and emotional skills.

Schools to create a customized, blended capacity - building model
of professional learning to provide APS district leaders, specialists, coordinators, and coaches with the understanding, knowledge, skills, and resources needed to successfully begin implementing the Common
Core Georgia Performance Standards via

job - embedded professional learning within the APS Professional Development System.
Affordable housing, safe streets and sidewalks, access to open space, transit,
schools, fresh food,
jobs and education, energy efficiency and renewable generation, stormwater management, and green building are
core principles

of the greatest skills

schools and our profession always have done a good
job of instilling that
