Core Skills Training is a small
group experience designed to broaden the clinical
skill sets associated with each of the nine steps in the EFT therapy process.
Group supervision can also be accessed through teleconference, Advanced Externship, or
Core Skills training.
Many clinicians find presenting in a
group format adds to their
training experience, and your hours can also take the place of
Core Skills if you choose to go that route.
Finally, Stahmer and Gist27 examined the effects of a parent education support
group with a parent education program that focused on pivotal response
training, a treatment program designed to enhance
core skill areas in autism by using naturalistic interactions.

core member of the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) team, where I provide individual DBT and
group skills training for individuals struggling with borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, non-suicidal self - injury, mood disorders, trauma and substance abuse.
The goal of the Advanced
Skills Development
training is for therapists to improve their mastery of selected
core interventions of GST i.e. have the ability to meet the requirements of the
Group ST Rating Scale.
They may then choose to participate in
Core Skills Training which is a set of 4, 2 - day
trainings, typically spread out over a 6 to 8 month time period, or they may participate in additional individual and / or
group supervision of at least 24 hours.
Training provided includes a full EFT externship and
Core Skills Advanced
Training, monthly AEDP seminars and quarterly NYCEFT Seminars, monthly EFT
group supervision, and participation in process research.

Core Skills Training is open to all therapists who have taken an EFT Externship and are willing to participate in role plays and to show a 15 - 20 minute segment from one of your sessions to the
group.
With respect to the European agenda this year, I began with four days of
training in Slovenia (
Core Skills 3 & 4), followed by a two - day workshop in trauma (open to a diverse
group of medical, educational, and counseling professionals and attended by individuals from various parts of Europe including, for example, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, and Sweden).
The only outstanding requirement for Certification after attending
Core Skills Training is eight hours of supervision, four of which can be
group.

To obtain certification, therapists participate in an E.F.T. 4 - Day Externship, 4 to 5 weekends of

An Advanced Externship (12 hours over 2 days) led by a Certified EFT Supervisor or Trainer plus 24 hours of
group supervision is an alternate route to certification for those geographical areas that are isolated and
