While Hyatt still doesn't
count award stays towards elite status, they do count points + cash stays.
While Hilton also
counts award stays toward elite status, there is a much easier way to get top tier status with them.
And I agree, it would indeed be nice if Hyatt
counted award stays towards status.

Since transfers from Chase Ultimate Rewards to Hyatt are one of the more common ways for people to book
award stays, it's not as if Hyatt would be seeing a huge amount of revenue by

I'm glad to see that
award nights
count towards status, and really hope that Hyatt adds this as a feature to all
award stays instead of just the new cash and points rates.

count as «eligible.»
There's no change to what
counts as an «eligible
stay,» which is to say that free night
awards still won't
count towards status.
Registering for a HH
award account and specifying that you want the points
awarded for
stays or mileage DOES NOT
COUNT.
The key is to register because it is unthinkable that I would
stay at a Hilton property and not spend even a penny, even on
award stays, which ALWAYS
count!
