Brands, which already produces Mexican
beers Corona and Modelo, has agreed to pay almost $ 1 billion to buy California
craft brewer
Ballast Point.
Following a proprietary review of the
craft beer segment, and its own positioning within it, Constellation
Brands has re-launched a number of its
Ballast Point offerings with a new look in an attempt to «tell its story more effectively» to consumers.
In addition to its presence in Chicago,
Ballast Point will also be the «official
craft beer sponsor of Barclays Center» in Brooklyn after Constellation executives last year negotiated a «comprehensive arena sponsorship» that will also give the San Diego brewery a
branded bar on the main concourse.
The company also learned that two - thirds of U.S.
craft beer drinkers, when presented with a list of 10
brands, were unfamiliar with
Ballast Point.

As part of the deal,
Ballast Point — which sold to Constellation for $ 1 billion last November — will become the «official
craft beer sponsor of Barclays Center,» and receive its own
