Your cover designer will need to give you three versions of your cover: One for IngramSpark using the template provided by their generator, another version
for CreateSpace with white space for the barcode they automatically insert, and a version (front cover only) for the eBook.

on CreateSpace using their Standard Distribution (not Expanded!)
Entering an imprint for the eBook while having the paperback publisher show as
CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform kind of defeats the purpose of using the imprint.
These days, many are turning to self publishing platforms such
as Createspace by Amazon, Kindle Direct Publishing (for ebooks only), Smashwords (ebooks only), and Lulu.
But after learning the ropes, I published my second edition through
Amazon Createspace for the paperback and Kindle Direct Publishing for the e-book.
They don't even offer a satisfaction survey after you've uploaded,
like Createspace does.
Since I don't live that far from where
CreateSpace prints in SC, I can get five proof copies in about three days.
Now I know that it's an effective one Jason, it's true that you can import your epub file
in Createspace at no cost, but here the big difference is that you have beautiful books with various formatting options, a big difference for the readers.
Rather than go on about how it's essentially another version
of Createspace publishing with the convenience of one dashboard for ebook and paperback books, I'll give you a point - by - point comparison of the two platforms.
That's kind of a stretch because
CreateSpace does not offer the discounts and returns program that brick - and - mortar bookstores insist upon.
And honestly, the distribution services offered
by CreateSpace have been wonderful for the indie publishers to get paper books out into bookstores.
Well, you've set up your book
via CreateSpace using your free ISBN, and you've turned on «Expanded Distribution,» so they see it listed there, but you've also assigned your own ISBN to the one that you set up with IngramSpark.
Of course companies like
CreateSpace offers editing packages and other options, but it is easy to not get those.
Third party vendors using online storefronts have sprung up on various retail sites that sell authors» print editions at an astounding markup over the authors» own sales» pages, sometimes listing
CreateSpace paperback editions for as much as $ 40 or more.
More experienced authors also make use of Amazon owned
CreateSpace platform to create «Print On Demand» paperback copies of their eBooks for even more distribution and income opportunities.
I know I can produce a POD book through
CreateSpace because lots of other people have already one so.

(Amazon's
CreateSpace accounts for the largest share of that growth, but the numbers exclude Kindle Direct, which allows authors to publish without an ISBN.)
Neither do KDP published print books currently receive the extended distribution of
CreateSpace titles.
If you decide to create your own
CreateSpace eStore, use the computations as they were explained in the Standard Distribution section to arrive at the royalties that are due to you.

Createspace also in the middle of setting up my website.
While not typically a deal breaker for most authors, until now
CreateSpace covers were only offered as a glossy, plasticized cover.
If you only ask the shop to give you the minimum price for it, they may even buy it on the spot without asking to sell it first, or you could tell larger bookstores that they can order through
CreateSpace Direct.
Let's also just emphasize again that this is over 36,000 ebooks and over US$ 86,000 that are NOT counted in any official publishing reports, as I don't use ISBNs on ebooks or audiobooks and I use
free Createspace ISBNs for print.

Createspace allows self publishers the opportunity to publish physical print - on - demand trade paperback books, ebooks (for Amazon Kindle and mobile devices with the free Kindle app) and audio books or music.
In many cases publishers have a higher margin with
CreateSpace POD and adding the Kindle upsell gives them found money.
(After all, Amazon's print - on - demand
CreateSpace lists itself as publisher and uses their ISBN for extended distribution.)
You can only use the barcode from
Createspace which they will insert themselves in the blank space we leave in the corner.
Should a first time writer be concerned as I am, not be listed as the author if I choose
CreateSpace Expanded Distribution or Custom ISBN?
I can not understand why Amazon have two print portals unless they, at some time, intend getting rid of
CreateSpace where I now print my paperbacks.
She and Valterra had talked about throwing a book party when they publish the print version through Amazon's
CreateSpace program, which is currently planned for later this month.
If she still wants physical copies, publishing systems like
Createspace gives you that choice.
