Players can play against their friends directly by
creating game lobbies and inviting their friends, or searching for friends that are currently playing and joining them.

Although Marvel vs. Capcom 3 isn't quite the perfect fighter that they'd tried so hard to
create, it's not far off, and thanks to 8 - player winner - stays - on
lobbies and a plethora of bonus content to unlock — that doesn't include the majority of the
game's characters!
You can even play with friends by
creating a
lobby for friends only, but you can't directly invite others from within the
game, so you'll have to organise your co-op sessions externally.
If you own a Wii U Lan Adapter, you can actually download a Wii U app that will let you synch your
game with your Wii U and join, but not
create, online
lobbies.
The least a developer can do, if they are
creating a
game in a genre that demands online play, is to ensure that by the time the
game hits shelves, users will not spend more time waiting in a
lobby than actually playing the
game.
Search match mode provides a quick and efficient way of searching for the online
lobby that best matches your preferred settings or you can alternatively utilise the
create match mode to implement your preferences including the length of the
game mode such as a Grand Prix, MXoN race or Championship with the additional options of the category of event comprising of MX1 and MX2 bikes; the physics from a free choice for each player to a set standard, semi pro or pro physics; the race length from 3, 5, 10, 15 or 20 laps and the number of races within a Championship from 3 to 18 races; the option of a qualifying session; track and weather selection policies for random selection or voting; the difficulty of A.I. controlled opponents or no A.I.; collisions; privacy settings for having an open or private
lobby; and the inclusion of downloadable content tracks.
There are quick matches if you just want to get in there,
lobbies to crew up and go through the different races that way or you can
create your own matches, the choice is 100 % yours as with everything in this
game.
Custom
game includes a session list for players to view a listing of available
lobbies to join or
creating a
lobby with a clear listing of the connection strength of the online
lobbies» host, who is hosting the online
lobby,
lobby type, session type, current progression of the session, current track, modern or classic era F1 cars, the quantity of players who have joined the
lobby out of the maximum amount of players allowed and the finer details for the currently selected session such as duration, condition and assists.
The
lobby system is a bit out of wack as well, allowing people to start
games with lopsided teams in ranked matches, and it would be nice to
create a
lobby with your friends and not have to quit out and regroup every time.
