It is no surprise, however, that people charged with perpetrating fraud and corruption
against the
taxpayers of Monroe County are attempting to distract from their alleged
crimes.

against Lopez and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, who apologized for quietly settling earlier complaints
against Lopez with a
taxpayer - funded confidential settlement.
