At the north end of Nusa Penida we have also been very lucky with sightings of the magnificent Mola Ramsiay
cruising along the reef only at 20m deep but we have also been treated to a very very rare sighting of a Thresher Shark, which is typically a very deep water shark only occasionally coming up to the shallow waters to be cleaned!!
Snorkelling is the best way to view the exquisite coral and vibrant fish close up, but our base also has a semi-submersible vessel to take non-swimmers for
a cruise along the reef wall.
We watched giant trevallies
cruising along the reef and hunting, while sharks scoured the depths below, and clouds of orange and pink anthias filled the shallows.
Expect to spot stingrays and eagle rays
cruising along the reefs, not forgetting clownfish, stonefish, and barracudas.
As the divers drifted along with the current schooling batfish, Big - Eye Jack and fusiliers also were seen
cruising along the reef.
The visibility was slightly more limited than on the previous two dives (around 15 meters / 50 feet) and the current was slightly stronger but none of these factores keep the divers from enjoying the sights of Whitetip, Grey Reef and other pelagics
cruising along this reef hosting a lot of fish and great coral cover, both hard and soft species.
Besides that, schooling fusiliers, batfishes, Blacktip Reef Shark and a Napoleon Wrasse
cruising along the reef also made this a sight.
Schooling Pick - handle Barracudas, Big - Eye Jacks and batfish were seen
cruising along the reef densely covered in soft coral, both alongside the wall and the slope side.
