Like a lot of
cult movies though, it has it's flaws; the settings are basic and it has the old flashing computers with an abundance of lightbulbs on show but it's testament to Carpenter's vision that his concept overrides these dated faults and the film still manages to remain suitably futuristic.

movies more than once or twice, Tully is the kind of cinematic treat — a
cult classic well in the making — that you'll want to rewatch again the second it's over, not just to help piece together various narrative clues but to revisit the rib - tickling jokes and hang out with these characters for a little longer.

movie grossed a little over $ 60 million worldwide back in 2001 from a budget of just under half of that,
though the film has a huge following and gained a progressive
cult status in the years that have passed since then.

His appearances in film and television throughout the years were jump - started by his turn as ambitious warehouse manager Daryl Philbin in
cult TV classic The Office which in turn resulted in a string of parts in Evan Goldberg comedies including Pineapple Express, This is the End and, most recently, Sausage Party as well as features on other notable comedies as Knocked Up, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Zack and Miri Make a Porno and a starring role in the two Hot Tub Time Machine
movies (
though we wish we could forget that second one.)
Since then,
though, many have found the artistic side of Kubrick's creation and the
movie has earned a
cult following.
Though the message is muddled at times, the
movie really has a lot to say about the sexual politics at the time, the
cult of celebrity, and, well, plain «ol cultism.
Black comedies typically make the best
cult movies, and
though this one is filled with aberrant and deviant behavior, it's somehow not quite twisted enough... or at least not properly twisted for viewer fun.
Though many of this month's films probably won't be remembered by the time summer rolls around, there are a few indie flicks with real
cult potential and a pair of tentpole - type
movies based on popular properties that will benefit from opening during a less competitive time of year.

cult status as a dystopian premonition of where America might be headed.

though, The Endless rapidly develops from a mysterious, elliptical story about
cult survivors and strained relationships into a much larger and stranger
movie, essentially the Aliens to Resolution's original Alien.
