This time I reduced the grapeseed oil to 1/3 cup and used 1/3
cup of honey instead of 1/2 cup agave.
I used 1/2
cup of honey instead of sugar, and applesauce instead of almond milk, because I didn't have any on hand.
I substituted the oil for 1 cup of applesauce and I added only 1/4
cup of honey instead of the maple syrup.
Maybe a little extra liquid wouldn't hurt and I would say it does most likely need 1/3
cup of honey instead of 1/4.
I used a 1/4
cup of honey instead and I found it still on the sweeter side, would this recipe still work without honey or maple syrup?

You can definitely sub brown sugar or regular sugar
instead of honey — I recommend increasing the sugar to 1/3 or 1/2
cup.

I really like a sweet challah, so I decreased the oil to 4 tbsp and
