Much of the work exhibited here was produced in Dunkley's former house and studio in Liverpool Rd, a stone's throw from Frame London and in which her children last year curated an exhibition of 50 years of her work.
This show comes 20 years after pivotal exhibitions such as Memorias Intimas Marcas — initiated by Fernando Alvim, in collaboration with Gavin Younge and Carlos Garaicoa, which looked at the residue of trauma caused by the Angolan Civil War — and the 2nd and last Johannesburg Biennale, curated by Okwui Enwezor, which unusually for the international art world at the time included many artists from the Global South.

This year's exhibition is curated by Misal Adnan Yildiz and consists of five pairs of UK - based and international galleries presenting selected works by women artists, with a high percentage of Non-European participants which includes indigenous practices from Maori, Kurdish, Asian, and African origins.
