exhibition, «Future People,» at the Rebuild Foundation, Derrick Adams sat down with VoCA Board Member and Virginia Steele Scott Chief
Curator of American Art at The Huntington, Chad Alligood, to discuss his arts practice and the experience
of incorporating elements from the Stony Island Arts Bank archive into his work.
The installed artworks, the participating artists, the
curators, the
exhibition, and the institution can all be considered «substitute teachers» that encourage visitors to assess and challenge their own wealth
of knowledge while embarking
on new journeys
of discovery.
Organized by Tumelo Mosaka (
Curator of Contemporary Art at the Krannert Art Museum), University
of Illinois, this
exhibition focuses
on the various ways artists from around the world respond to issues about identity particularly those defined by race and ethnicity.

Curator at BCMA, the
exhibition builds
on the foundation
of Bowdoin's strong history
of collecting works
on paper, stemming back to the initial gift
of 141 historic European drawings gifted to the college by its first benefactor James Bowdoin III in 1811.
The design
of it though is a bit more complex — it draws
on the traditional idea
of the art fair for the ground floor and first floor
of the Saatchi Gallery but then the second floor is a series
of curator - lead projects including solo
exhibitions, a group
exhibition and solo artist presentations.
Åsmund Thorkildsen,
curator of that
exhibition, gives an introduction to Sherman's artistic practice based
on his in - depth knowledge
of the Postmodern period in American art history.

of Chicago, where she was responsible for the
exhibition and acquisition

exhibition will be accompanied by a fully illustrated publication with a scholarly essay by the
curator, commissioned texts, and a biography
of the artist, marking the first comprehensive catalogue
on Ree Morton produced by a U.S. institution since her show at the New Museum in 1980.
