And, as much as vegans wouldn't want to admit it, if the human species returned to a more literal Paleo picture — actually hunting for actual wild
animals when necessary (and eating them fresh), making
animal foods just a part
of the overall
diet, and eating no refined plants (like white flour or white rice, which don't exist in nature), a couple things would happen: (1) we could put an end to the horrific treatment
of animals in the factory farming industry, and (2) the environmental devastation that results from our
current food production model would be substantially minimized.
So, I really believe in Dr Dean Ornish's scientific proven studies on reversing atherosclerosis heart disease, even prostate cancer, and yes, I believe in The China Study by T. Collin Campbell, even when he says we can turn on and turn off cancer growth just by adding
animal protein to the
diet of his subjets, the same way as I turn on and turn off my own high blood pressure just by adding or not

animal proteins and processed foods to my
diet, as I sometimes do as just to make sure the
diet really Works.
What we need is more research into how our
diet affects our health, and how our
current farming practices and feed - lot
animals are contributing to the decline
of our health.
While not everyone who are
animal eater would die young, but I strongly recommend the plant based
diet is a healthier
diet, my
current diet consists
of 80 to 90 %
of vegetables and whole grains, and the rest would be white meat and fish.
Although sustainability guidelines are unlikely to be included in the final version
of the 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, the Advisory Committee included the following statement in their initial report: «Consistent evidence indicates that, in general, a dietary pattern that is higher in plant - based foods, such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, and lower in
animal - based foods is more health promoting and is associated with lesser environmental impact (greenhouse gas emissions and energy, land, and water use) than is the
current average U.S.
diet.
The
current average western
diet contains anywhere from 20:1 to 30:1 ratio
of omega - 6 to omega - 3 fats due to the high consumption
of grain and soy - based foods and derivatives like soybean oil and corn oil that is pervasive in the food supply (and don't forget the corn and soy that's used as the main
animal feed component instead
of natural forage).
The file should include
current photographs
of your pet (you will have to show a photograph to have your
animal released to you from a shelter, or other holding facility; including yourself in the photos will facilitate this process), microchip identification number, adoption papers, a written description
of your pet (feline, female, 7 years old, grey tabby, 10 lbs, etc), a description
of your pet's distinctive markings (white paws, black spot on back, etc.),
diet, medications, vaccination history, behavioral issues and personality.
