You could also try the massaman
curry paste recipe I linked to in the post, you'd still want to cut out or reduce the number of chilies, but since heat isn't as essential to massaman curry you'd end up with something that tastes closer to an authentic Thai curry.

If you're not into too much heat, but want to flirt with danger, try starting out with less

curry paste (such as this) instead of powder - just toss the shrimp in the
curry paste instead of the powder and then cook as the
recipe describes.
It's awesome, I bought some at market and brought it back Thai

When I want to make an Indian - inspired
recipe without a lot of fuss, I usually turn to my trusty jar of
curry paste.
The ingredient list of this

I was drawn to
recipes such as Vegan Buttermilk Biscuits that included rosemary and Thai Chili that is full of vegetables, red
curry paste and coconut milk.
To make the
curry a bit milder, I used 1/3 cup
curry paste, substituted 1 1/4 cups yogurt for the 1 1/4 cups water, and added 3 tbs brown sugar (which was suggested in a different
recipe).
As far as usage goes, I think people tend to look to
recipes for the exact amount of
curry paste they're supposed to use in their cooking.
Those of you who are regular readers know I tend to share a good amount of
curry recipes - both here and in my books, and I often call for you to use whatever favorite
curry paste you have on hand.
A bit more involved than his original
recipe, this version has you making your own
curry paste from fresh turmeric (yes!)
I made the
recipe according to the directions except I substituted the tomato
paste for 3/4 cup spicy
curry sauce and threw in some fresh rosemary from my garden.
A simple
recipe for a quick, vegan red
curry paste.
Add enough neutral oil to a hot pan to thinly cover the surface, cook two tablespoons of Thai green
curry paste (see the
recipe) until fragrant, and then stir in one tablespoon of the basil - cilantro mixture until the two are incorporated.
For this
recipe, I would use 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of the
curry paste.

recipe so I may have overlooked that in larger appliances it would be difficult to grind the
