The reported production
cuts arrive
on the heels of rumors that Apple will be discontinuing the iPhone X when it unveils its next
flagship phone next year.
Where many OEMs are working hard to
cut on the size of bezels, the Moto X 2017 renders show off a device that has quite large bezels and also significantly thick, an indicator that the
phone will indeed be a midranger and nothing close to the Moto Z
flagship.
However, it's really exceptional to see such placement
on a
cutting - edge
flagship phone.
HMD is said to be working
on two
flagship phones that will pack Qualcomm's
cutting - edge Snapdragon 835, the same chip that (probably) powers the upcoming Galaxy S8.
Metal frames could also be present
on the new
phones (suggested by the
cuts for the antennas at the front of the devices), which have only been seen
on Samsung's
flagship smartphones and the Galaxy A lineup until now.
