There are three driving
modes to
choose from — Normal, Dynamic, and Individual — and they affect throttle mapping, shift strategy, steering feel, and
damper setting.
Damper settings, steering tune, stability control, traction control, and throttle response change depending on what
mode you
choose.
Suspension tweaks have been limited to new
dampers chosen to give a more comfortable ride, and the «Drive Select» controller now also comes with an «Efficiency»
mode which knocks back throttle response to boost economy.
The dynamic
dampers are constantly adjusting themselves in accordance with the
chosen driving
mode.
Variable
damper controls allow the driver to
choose a comfort setting for fussy family members, an automatic
mode allows the car to select optimal settings, and a sport
mode enhances more spirited driving.
Magnetic Ride Control
dampers react to road conditions almost instantaneously, whereas user - selectable Touring and Sport
modes allow just the right driving characteristics to be
chosen.
Using the machined aluminium collar that surrounds the start / stop button, there are three dynamic
modes to
choose from: «Dynamic» is default, «Sport» hones the magnetic ride
dampers and sharpens the already electric throttle response (come to think of it, they did plug the car in several times during the day... perhaps it was all an elaborate hoax and this is in fact the world's first hybrid supercar?)
You can
choose between Comfort, Normal, and Cupra (sport)
modes to control the firmness of the
dampers (plus the throttle response and steering weight), but even in the stiffest setting the Leon isn't unbearable.
The adaptive
damper concept is automatically adjusted to different driving
modes through ANIMA, or can be fully customized by the driver via the EGO
mode,
choosing the required rigidity for a very comfortable ride to an extremely sporty, aggressive setting dependent on driving style and road conditions.
The # 895 Airmatic Agility package adds air suspension, adaptive
dampers and an Agility Select function that allows you to
choose from Eco, Comfort, Sport and Sport + driving
modes.
The optional adaptive
dampers are worth having; they allow you to
choose between a firm setting for improved control on twisty roads or a more supple
mode for greater comfort.
Plus, you can get the optional Dynamic
Damper Control feature, which allows you to soften the suspension -
choosing one of the Green, Mid and Sport available
modes - for trips around the city or on bumpier surfaces, where the 17 - inch wheels are not helping your back's cause at all.
Also depending on engine choice will be the possibility to order an optional Airmatic air suspension which will allow the driver to
choose between Comfort, ECO, Sport and Sport Plus
modes that will alter
damper settings.
The new set - up allows the driver to

modes to vary the firmness of the
dampers.
If you add the optional adaptive
dampers, you'll be able to
choose between Tour, Normal and Sport
modes, which offer a soft, balanced and sporty ride respectively.

In the other two
modes — Sport and Comfort — the

modes, enabling the driver to
choose between a more comfortable
damper setting for urban driving, for example, or a stiffer set - up for dynamic driving on country roads.
The Select Series is a steel body monotube
damper with two sets of independent internal valving so you can
choose between «cruise -
mode» with a soft compliant ride or a firmer «sport
mode» for handling performance... all at the touch of a switch!
