We work with international and UK
artists to produce extraordinary experiences, creating an exciting mix of thought - provoking drama,
dance, film and contemporary visual art with a strong focus
on international work, new commissions and talent development.
The gifted works range from early creations such as Discourse
on a Chair (1985), which was only recently rediscovered, to his latest works — More Sweetly Play the
Dance, which was recently shown at Marian Goodman Gallery in London and is discussed in this interview with the
artist.

Informed by an extensive background in live performance, Kahn's work embodies a keen awareness of the body and of
artist / audience relationships, drawing
on devices of improvisation, comedy,
dance, theater, and pop vernaculars to drive forward its deeper structures based in literary, cinematic, and musical practices.

Throughout the run of the exhibition, there will also be held Musical Concerts,
Dance performances, a Documentary film
on the original «Armory Show» of 1913, and related works by other
artists and performers.
Visitors are invited to observe airborne and earthbound geometric constructions saturated in bright colours; examine his Bólides (Fireballs), interactive composite objects filled with sand and other substances, which were intended to be handled by viewers;
dance samba in one of his Parangolés, capes designed by the
artist to be worn by the public; play billiard
on a pool table that is supposed to send you back to the atmosphere of Vincent Van Gogh's painting The Night Cafe; and experience immersive exotic or unfamiliar environments, as in his installations Tropicália (1967) and Eden (1969).
Thus in 1963 Jasper Johns and John Cage established the Foundation for Contemporary Performance Arts based
on the belief that visual
artists — painters and sculptors — were sufficiently concerned about the state of the performance arts —
dance, theatre and music — enough so to donate artwork to benefit performing
artists.

Based
on his experiences composing both electronic
dance music for clubs and atmospheric soundtracks for video
artists, Berg continues to be fascinated by music's potential to transport listeners into a trance - like state.
The 36 - year - old London - based German
artist's «constructed situations» — involving performers who sing,
dance, converse, or otherwise destabilizingly interact with viewers — can cast astonishing spells
on both intimate scale (Kiss, 2007) and in the art world's biggest arenas (Tate Modern's Turbine Hall in 2012 and the Guggenheim's entire rotunda in 2010).
These being friends of the
artist on the Lower East Side, they could be
dancing or skateboarding, and one sees mostly the back of their heads.
Shot
on several of the Museum's floors, the videos reveal the
artist as she moves and
dances alone through the building, camouflaging herself in the empty gallery spaces during the transition period between exhibitions.

artist Douglas Gordon and pianist Hélène Grimaud, which flooded the Armory's drill hall with an installation of water, light, and music; and HABEAS CORPUS, a performance and installation by Laurie Anderson based
on the story of a former Guantanamo Bay detainee that examines lost identity, memory, and the resiliency of the human body and spirit.
