At first I tried 50/50 and it was still a bit
too dark for me, so I kept adding more horizon (
kitchen color) until it was what I wanted maybe like 60/40?
So, instead of standing on a chair awkwardly in my extremely
dark and stormy
kitchen, taking way
too many blurry pics, I spent my time conquering several other never - ending blog chores, such as revamping old recipes, creating pinnable images for those recipes, commenting on fellow blogger's recipe posts, answering emails, and deciding on what this week's «Mid-Week Past Recipe Revisit» would be.
(I use a
dark corner of my
kitchen — it's just
too pretty to hide away in a cabinet and will brighten your day like a bouquet of flowers.)
Tomatoes need to be stored in a cool area, ideally a
dark cool area, but if you like to keep a few ripe tomatoes at the ready, on your
kitchen counter, store them stock upside - down, and that will prevent them from over ripening,
too fast.
There are also
too many black or
dark pops throughout the
kitchen, so I wanted to lessen a few of those,

kitchen cabinets
too!
When we lived in our apartment that
kitchen was super
dark too.
we have this look in our
kitchen, but with our
dark cherry cabinets, i'm afraid it makes the whole space look
too dark.
ok I have that space
too... but I never thought of it as an ucky dust filled space... more of an opportunity to accessorize... I have seen other blogs with open cabinetry and baskets up there... but I really like what you did... I'm trying to picture that now in my
kitchen and I really think it would make the ceilings look taller — we are thinking of re-staining our cabinets
darker (we have the honey oak popular in the 90's) and that might be a project for the future... thanks for sharing
i go to my friends» houses, which are all so cookie cutter with their builder
kitchens,
dark wood floors, leather furniture, no pictures on the walls, etc. and i feel like i,
too, should fit that mold.
I'd choose a cream tile for the counters so that the
kitchen isn't
too dark.
I like the wood tone Kristen from Ella Claire used in her
kitchen, but a
darker wood would be alright
too.
I
too would be tempted to go with the white, although I do love grey, but living in the UK, and having quite a
dark kitchen, makes me think that grey cupboards could be a bit depressing on a dull day.
In the meantime I did fall in love with this beautiful shade of Marigold - a bit
too dark for my
kitchen, but nevertheless, gorgeous!
I didn't take photos of the
kitchen when the top cabinets were installed,
too but trust me that it felt
dark, small and dated.
We have Revere Pewter at full strength in other places in our home and we love it, but it was
too dark for our already -
dark kitchen.
We recently found out that we're moving,
too — and we've found a house with great «bones» but horrible decorating — emerald green carpet throughout,
dark terracotta
kitchen,
dark tuscan gold hallway, etc..
