The last time I spoke with the sale associates, they shared with me that there are currently 5
colors available — Jungle (olive), Dune (
sand beige), Navy (
dark blue), Anthracite (blue gray), and Black.
They come in three
colors: a nearly - white land brown called
sand, a medium brown and a
darker brown.
Whichever you use, you can layer various
colors of light &
dark with
sanding and achieve what I believe gives you the most authentic aging.
Sand it down, clean it thoroughly, and take extra steps if you're covering up a really
dark color.

While the location of the hottest place on Earth might shift from year to year, the conditions that give rise to it remain the same: Dry, rocky and
dark -
colored lands are good at absorbing heat, while lighter
sand will tend to reflect more sunlight.
The frequency response is highly sculpted,
sanding down the treble to a smooth, dull finish, and accentuating the bass and lower midrange frequencies to create a

This room started out stinky, and quickly morphed to messy... We stained the floor that
dark brown
color after we ripped out the carpet, but we did a bad job, and craved a lighter look, so we
sanded it back again and just used clear Varathane to seal them the second time around... Around that -LSB-...]
We stained the butcher block with «
dark walnut» MinWax stain, but Cy applied it a little bit
darker than I wanted, so we lightly
sanded it to get this beautiful

Once the French Linen is dry - then use Annie's medium
sanding sponge and distress some of the French Linen to show the
dark milk chocolate
color of the Honfleur beneath.
Something I wanted to share now though, is that when you
sand prior to waxing over a
dark Chalk Paint ™
color like Graphite (as I have in my photo below)... you will get this residual white chalky look.
Because of the rust underneath, more of the
dark rust
color came through in the
sanding, but that was not the look I was going for, so I needed to tone it down and «even» out my paint
colors.
The chairs had a
dark color stain on them so I
sanded the «shiny stuff» then primed each one.
I was wondering if the white covers the
darker color adequately and if so how does it look after
sanding?
I so want to
sand down and stain my ugly orangy oak a
dark dark color but not sure it's worth the effort.
Will it roll on smoothly and since it is
dark wood and I am doing it in a lighter
color do I just
sand lightly to get the
dark antique look on the carvings on the legs after painting it?
As far as using a
dark color under white, I have never done it myself, but I think it would look great — you would see the
color all around the edges of the
sanded areas.
If you want most of your
dark color covered then you might need 2 layers of dragging those
colors — and no, I wouldn't
sand in between — no need to... just paint it thinner...
