I don't want to reveal much about the so - called
plot, but Solondz is a master at throwing
dark, satirical
elements into a narrative, humorously revealing the
dark underside
of things.
Somehow successfully combining
elements of a revenge thriller with some seriously
dark humor in a
plot about violence towards children, Big Bad Wolves will leave you saying, «My, what big balls you have!»
Ullmann's writing style is gripping, even if she carries some
of her famous father's
dark plot elements.
Correcting some minor
plot elements wouldn't hurt either, like stabilishing whenever the godfather paradox happens or not (it happens once, then it can't be reproduced), but that's aesthetic compared with the mess
of the
Dark Ages.
Some
elements not borrowed from Minecraft include the fact the game isn't procedurally generated, action RPG
elements that reminded me a lot
of Dark Cloud and Secret
of Mana, the characters not being reminiscent
of the earliest days
of polygonal graphics, and the fact there is an actual
plot.
