Hi Ella (or anyone that has made these before...) I can't have any sugar at all, I can just about tolerate the medjool
dates but the maple
syrup is definitely a no go... if I leave that out of the brownie
recipe will it be a disaster?!

I couldn't find
date syrup, so I used coconut
syrup, which I bought for one of your other
recipes and seeing as it only required a little almond butter, I made my own.
I have done a similar Delia
recipe for years, but I love the idea of replacing the refined sugar with
date syrup, and adding in the cranberries, so I'll try that this year!!
I couldn't find sunflower seeds, so just went with the
recipe as posted (substituted some of more expensive ingredients — honey for maple
syrup, different type of
date), but will use suggestion of upping oats next time to see how it goes.
I didn't use
dates... as mentioned all was the same in your
recipe except the maple
syrup and peanut butter.
If anyone has trouble processing the
dates and sweet potatoes (my friend had this issue, couldn't get a smooth consistency at all), or if you wanted to make these but forgot to buy
dates (happened to me)-- 1/2 cup liquid sweetener works great in place of the
dates and maple
syrup in this
recipe.

If you're not using a sweetened protein powder like Vega, you'll need additional sweetener for this
recipe like a couple pitted
dates or a splash of pure maple
syrup.
I changed the filling (I did a
date and fig filling with a bit of maple
syrup lemon zest and lemon juice), but made the dough and assembled the cookies according to the
recipe and it was great!

recipes.
I had to make a few adjustments based on what I had but otherwise followed the
recipe: — wholewheat flour instead of buckwheat — mix of walnuts and sunflower seeds as I didn't have enough walnuts — 3
dates and 1.5 tbsp maple

Date Pops for inspiration, but I used the vanilla cake batter coconut butter and nixed the maple
syrup.
