With Zoella's February 7th arrival and our unexpected week - long hospital stay, our Valentine's
Day dessert was a heart - shaped Whole Foods cheesecake shared over hospital trays with visiting friends and a snuggly soft

I was afraid to admit to certain fellow attachment parenting moms that I: used a
baby swing, tried to get my children to take pacifiers (though none would), used disposable diapers at home some
days when I was over doing all that
laundry, used the TV as a babysitter when I needed to clean or eat chocolate by myself, fed my children store - bought
baby food some times, and much more.
Because this is how my life looks as a mom of two: Folding
laundry that's been sitting in the basket for at least three
days... while singing along to a Laurie Berkner DVD with my son, who's putting on a full show with singing, dancing and guitar - playing... while using one foot to further bounce the
baby's bouncy seat to lull her back to sleep.
One
day I was doing
laundry and just happened to be washing my sons old newborn clothes for the
baby and his little underwear in the same load.
Maybe you bring the
baby into the bathroom with you and let him or her lie on a soft blanket or in a
laundry basket or a bouncy seat while you shower right after the first nursing of the
day.

baby safe while you eat, clean, write, walk or binge - watch your favorite TV show while folding
laundry.

baby during the
day.

I think that the point made above, that
babies generate so much
laundry that what's a couple more items a
day, is a good one.
To be fair, I had an active
baby who walked early, I was exhausted all the time and had limited
laundry access, so I used these on the
days that we washed.
Between all of the late night feedings, the
baby who doesn't understand the concept of night and
day and doesn't sleep for more than 2 to 4 hours at a time, the recovery from childbirth and having to tend to daily chores, like
laundry, dishes, grocery shopping (the list goes on and on), a mom on maternity leave is certainly going to be exhausted.
First off as moms we are always multi-tasking so while the
baby needs to be in your arms, like ALL
DAY LONG, you also have everyday life things that need to be done like grocery shopping,
laundry, and chasing after other kids too.
I joke with my husband that I saved us a TON of money by having a natural delivery, no drugs; breast feeding the
babies, no formula, and letting the kids go naked most of the
day while we are home - saves on diapers and
laundry (we live in a tropical climate, so it is easy to do this!)
Doing the same amount of
laundry we realized with a bit older
baby, we could cruise through 2
days and only use disposables in an emergency or for traveling.
Forget just using a
laundry pen to write «your last name» on
baby's diaper tag for
day care.
SLEEP WHEN YOUR
BABY SLEEPS DURING THE
DAY!!!! Do not do
laundry or cleaning or watching TV or look at Facebook (unless it is my page of course).
Going to another state or country might leave you with a different routine in the

baby, and your life that's being uprooted for a set amount of
days or weeks.
Then on
laundry day I toss all of the diapers into the washer as fast as possible and begin sanitizing those
babies!

Do some

laundry), go food shopping, prepare some healthy meals, clean the loo and change the matrimonial bedding every 3 or 4
days (it's likely to be saturated in breastmilk from night feeds or leaks).
These
days, you should be able to easily find quality
baby laundry detergent at your local supermarket, but when you're being specific or really looking for the quality ones, depending on where you are, those choices on the shelf can seem pretty limited.
I love the creams and soft earth tones of gender - neutral clothing, which newborn
babies grow out of before the next
laundry day anyway.
Because cloth
baby wipes are used for everything from wiping faces to wiping bums, we recommend no less than two dozen cloth
baby wipes to get parents from one
laundry day to the next.
If you don't keep your soaps locked up and out of reach, your
laundry room could one
day be a hazardous place for

At home with a
baby, there is often nothing tangible to show after you have spent all

While some
days mom loves to just hold or play with her
babies for hours on end, eventually there is
