I hope one
day game reviewers will grow up and stop viewing a game they review with the lens of dollars per time, and instead similar to books / movies solely on the basis of the quality and how much they enjoyed or disliked aspects of it that are relevant.

day and age, many
game sales can hinder on the word of
game reviewers.
As for Yooka Laylee, if it didn't deliver good results for
reviewers, it most likely won't sell well because at the end of the
day, money's the thing and if the devs don't make profit out of the
game, then the
game bombed hard.

days.

One thing I loved about the Nintendo channel data for the regular Wii is that it could PROVE if the
reviewers / journalism actually did play the
game or not since journalism these
days are really shady and full of negative / lies or whatever just so they can get views / paycheck.
The overall hostility towards Kinect has all but disappeared, and many
reviewers understand Kinect
games these
days instead of just bashing them on general principles.
The whole convention was quite possibly the most work I've ever done in a 3
day period but it was rewarding to meet fans,
reviewers, and other developers, and the response for our
game was fantastic.
The original Shadowgate
game, released for the Macintosh, received positive
reviewer attention during its initial release and was praised for its difficulty and moody atmosphere, which was much different from many of the shooters or platformers of its
day.
8.5 / 10 for me, giving it a 10 because
reviewers these
days can only give good marks to the same simple mechanic
games and not the ones that try new things.
Gone are the
days that
game reviewers need put any effort into their work.
It's amazing that modern
day reviewers are respecting the
game for what it is — tight gameplay — and not ripping too hard on what it is not — tons of content, upgrading, AAA graphics, etc..
