Students
lived a
day in the
life of a tech
lawyer last week at the inaugural Student Tech Law Challenge, held by the Society for Computers and Law at the University
of Law's London campus.
We will get to you in five hours (at which time you will (a) probably catch the flu from someone else waiting, and (b) get a lousy will from a harried, distracted

of my own destiny is a compelling pitch to some
lawyers these

From my perspective (and I admit to canvassing none
of my colleagues), the law society responsible for
lawyers in Ontario seems far - removed from my
day - to -
day life as an in - house

Lawyering
Lawyers love to hate the billable hour — our
days and sadly our
lives have been measured in terms
of our yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily targets.
We may yet
live to see the
day when a comic regales an audience with his tales
of woe regarding the airlines, big box stores and the like, and is summarily handed summonses by a phalanx
of lawyers sitting ringside.
It was always our aim to improve the
lives of both
lawyers and their clients and I feel very proud that we achieve that goal every
day.
And then I read
of the many ways in which
lawyers use this
day to educate people in their communities about the importance
of law in their
day - to -
day lives.
