Trekking in Peru If you have planned to do

start our breath - taking three

trek, we tiptoed around our hostel in the dark, attempting to wash and dry our hair (it was going to be 4
days until we saw a shower again), and cram both our backpacks into one of the available lockers, ensuring that we'd not forgotten anything vital we may need on the

We definitely recommend that you arrive in Cusco at least two
days prior to the
start of your
trek in order to acclimatize.
Day 1 and we were picked up at 4:30 in the morning by our guide Efra and taken on a sleepy 3 - hour drive to Soraypampa, the
starting point of our
trek located at 3,700 m above sea level.It was here that we met our fellow trekkers — Emily and Amy from USA, our chef and his assistant along with the three porters and horses who would be joining us on the
trek.
The 5
Day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
trek section is considered as Moderate to Challenging level in which you need to be in a good physical conditions, we recommend to
start jogging at home before this adventure.

For another, you'll be so tired after your four
days trekking and your super early
start, that an early night in Aguas Calientes is way more preferable than a long night time journey back to Cusco!
