in towns and camp out on
beaches until we figured out if there was a room we could stay
in.

beach bag, satchel or backpack during the
day to a clutch or tote for a night out on the
town.
He'll be celebrating his 97th birthday

I spent six lovely
days enjoying breakfasts by the river, walks through the historic old
town of Paraty and its shops and restaurants, and basking
in the sun, swimming and snorkeling
in the many
beaches and the river waterfalls
in this area.
The way I look at it these
days is  «Why not take a little side trip to Playa del Carmen, or Tulum?»  ThatÂ's what we usually opt to do. Playa is a charming
beach town with many European visitors. It is a step up from San Pedro, and the prices reflect it. There are many chain stores. I don» t miss them
in Belize. But when visiting Playa I do get a bit of shopping
in before returning to the island.
There is so much to do and see en route to the reserve alone that you could probably take longer if you are a tourist, overnighting somewhere like Simon's
Town to make sure you are at the gates to the reserve bright and early, having already taken
in places like Boulders
Beach, Simon's
Town and Scarborough the
day before (even that's a tall order).
If you want to see the island yourself (
in reality), your best bet is to head to the coastal
town of Nadi
in Fiji, where there are a number of tour operators that offer
day trips to the island where you can snorkel, lie on the
beach or even climb the mountain
in the center of the island where Hanks was going to hang himself (bring your own rope for this activity — the climbing, not the hanging).
It is a sunshiny
day in a one - goat
town a few hours drive and world away from the busy capital — a place far removed from the
beaches and bars where gringos tend to roam.
Days can be spent hiking the hills that surround the
town, lazing on the
town's spotless
beach or even taking a stroll around the ruins of a zoo once built for the families of Spanish soldiers stationed
in the zone.

Beach becomes the hottest place to be

For lazy
days by the
beach in a lively and friendly
town, holidays to Armacao can't be beaten.
Plan at least a
day to hang out and get the surf vibe
in this classic
beach town, where the main drag heads straight to the
beach.
The 7,000 local people who inhabit the
town sell their red ceramic clay pottery
in the streets, and the delicious smells of the authentic food waft through the air, working up anyone's appetite after a long
day at the
beach.
There are many
beaches of Cape
Town on which a picnic is possible, but Oudekraal during the
day is one of the few that manages to remain relatively people - free, whilst Clifton's 4th
beach in the evening is very popular and protected from the wind.
Each
day offers something new and exciting to do, with guided expeditions and treks
in the ocean, on the
beach, around the
town, and deep into the tropical jungle, learn about and explore the island while cycling, snorkeling, horse - back riding, kayaking, hiking and driving dune - buggies.
For the next 8
days we are staying put
in one
beach town and after will move on to yet another
beach town for 2 weeks.

days surfing, sun bathing around the pier, hanging out
in their vintage VW vans, and strolling through the many surf shops, taco stands and antique malls.

beaches and coffee farms, or lower Puna, the main
town in which, Pāhala, mostly avoided being run over by lava flows from Kīlauea's East Rift Zone (ERZ) vent, Pu`u «Ō «ō,
in 2014; currently, the ERZ flows are approachable from the unpaved emergency road, on rented bicycles, then, by hiking up the pali («steep hill»
in Hawaiian).

After a

beach town, which has a distinct European feel.
This little seaside
town is situated
in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, and promises stunning
beach days and close proximity to the Garden Route and Nelson Mandela Bay (including Port Elizabeth).
You might amble down to the
beach and enjoy a
day in the gorgeous sunshine, or take a stroll around the little
town, popping into shops and cafés.
The downsides of the property were the distance to the
beach (about a ten minute walk from
town, making it so trips back to the house during the
day were difficult), the 3 locked doors to get inside (very secure, but a pain to enter and lock up the house, especially without guidance on which key opened which door), a broken shower (one shower didn't have hot water), and the ants
in the kitchen.
Now,
in the 4 or 5
days a month when it is really busy it can sometimes resemble scenes from Magaluf, but the majority of the time it is a relatively quiet
town with two nice
beaches where one can usually find a party
in or around if needs be (not always a bad thing).
Spend the
day wandering the
town or taking part
in a multitude of optional activities like sea kayaking, visiting Cape Byron Lighthouse, or relaxing on the
beach.
