Let me say this again in one last way, this is something that I have been saying about Android vs iOS since
the days of Froyo and is less true today that it was then, but I still stick with it: With iOS, you ask what your device can do and you stick with that, with Android, you ask yourself what you want to happen, then find out how Android can do it.
These were
the days of Froyo.
Not exact matches
In fact, most
of the tablets that were on display at the IFA were based on the Android 2.2
Froyo while almost every other
day we come across news
of new tablet launches having the Android as the OS either in its earlier iteration that would eventually lead to
Froyo, or
Froyo right out
of the box as is the case now.
However, now we know for sure the 7 inch Android
Froyo tablet will get to see the light
of day as early as this weekend itself, April 10 to be precise.
It really reminds me
of Android in the
FroYo / Gingerbread
days when the Google Play store was the Android Market.
Automated task killer apps gained notoriety in the early Android
days, as users attempted to improve the task management capability
of OS versions like
Froyo and Gingerbread.
It is on this
day that Dell began sales
of the Dell Streak 5, the smartphone with a 5 ″ display running Android 1.6 Donut (later upgraded to Android 2.2
Froyo).
