superhero movies, comic book stories, FX - driven tentpoles, etc. — feel both perfunctory and
dead on arrival.
The Deadpool
movie was, well, all but
dead until it was revived
in 2012, when the uber positive response to a test reel put together by current director Tim Miller and featuring Reynolds as Deadpool convinced the powers with the money that a hard R - rated
superhero movie was viable.
2016 has been the year for Marvel's lesser - known
superheroes coming to the forefront: Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and soon Doctor Strange (
in a
movie starring Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch) and the Punisher (played by The Walking
Dead alum Jon Bernthal
in Season 2 of Daredevil).
I am not fond of comics, especially the
superhero ones, and the few Batman
movies I watched proved utterly boring, so I'll skip that one and just wait for The Walking
Dead or for them to create another game
in an universe that I'll happen to look forward to, either
in a medieval universe (Arthurian / Warhammer / LOTR), a
in Sci - fi universe like Dune, or even an Alice
in Wonderland one could be really fun!
