the dead lift works a lot of muscles not every muscle is worked in the same way.

work large muscles groups that help to build that lean LGN body («look good naked») but also utilize the core muscles for stabilization.
Supplemental
lift (heavy
work): This would be a compound movement like incline bench, deficit
deads, rack pulls, and safety squat bar squats done heavy to supplement your main movement.
The hamstrings actually
work in many multi-joint leg exercises like squats and lunges, and they get even more emphasis in exercises like the
dead lift.
You can
work each leg muscle individually (with exercises like hamstring curls, leg extensions, inner and outer thigh machines, butt machines, and calf raises), but it will take you much more time and not be as beneficial as squats, or
dead lifts, or lunges.
Also, the core muscles will
work really hard in all of these, and the shoulders and scapular stabilizers will
work really hard during the
dead lift.
After you jump rope for 1 minute, grab a weighted object (watermelons
work great) and begin your single leg
dead lift.
