The controls do
feel a little sluggish compared to other new third - person survival horror - type games like
Dead Space, but RE enthusiasts will get used to it.
Yet, I didn't
feel as though this game achieved the level of horror that was
Dead Space, in which I agree with James in his Observations piece he did last week on
Dead Space 3.
The
Dead Space 3 soundtrack contains the most mood appropriate compositions in gaming, relating to what many
feel as a real cinematic experience.
While I can agree the visuals have aged and there's kind of harsh aliasing, I
feel the precision is excellent like with
Dead Space 1 the basic gun can be very deadly.

When I sign on for a
Dead Space experience, it's with the hope that it will freak me out, that I'll

feels more more in line with its focus on tense action and quick - thinking in its encounter with the Hunter.

Dead Space came closer than any other game to replicating the look,
feel and atmosphere of Ridley Scott's sci - fi thriller

feeling of knowing you're traveling about a ship that's lying

But little things like that bother me and I
feel Dead Space just doesn't belong on the Wii.
Let's get that first niggling thought out of the way: this Mass Effect iOS game isn't going to
feel like that

The controls, menus, aesthetics, and overall
feel of the demo invoke the original
Dead Space — but I don't view this as a bad thing at all.
That said, I
feel that EA understands they need to keep the atmosphere of
Dead Space intact.
Few games approach
Dead Space 2's ability to express the
feeling that the proverbial shit has hit the fan.
With games like
Dead Space,
Dead Space Extraction and Dante's Inferno, we
feel Visceral Games is a return to an older identity and a realization of our future.
When I play
Dead Space, I don't want to
feel like I can take on anything; I want to
feel like surefire death is around every corner.
The limited ammunition and supposed focus on stealth make this more of a traditional survival horror game than recent Resident Evil titles or even
Dead Space, but the game's heavy focus on combat turned my
feelings of dread into frustration quickly.
The game's
feel is important too:
Dead Space makes you
feel like a tank without giving you the horrible tank controls traditionally associated with horror games.
The game's
spaces feel rushed, lacking the sense of detail and design that made
Dead Space 2 so good.
I'd like to see a new entry to the series set in a living, breathing environment, like a
space station — something that feels like a real place, rather than using the spoked wheel design of Dead Spa

The first thing to note about Morpheus is the unit itself, which is all smooth edges, brushed matte plastic and makes me
feel a bit like Isaac Clarke of
Dead Space fame when I put it on.

Dead Space 3 trying to get over the controls; they
felt heavy, lumbering.
The Swapper gives off an ambience of isolation, and to me it
felt like
Dead Space without the survival horror element.
It definitely resembles God of War more than
Dead Space, mostly because its hard to get an idea of the atmosphere and what that will

Dead Space did very well.
About a week ago, PSM was reporting that they had seen the game and it
felt like a combination of God of War and
Dead Space, all wrapped into one.
Dead Space (EA Redwood Shores): This vaguely System Shock 2-esque action game
feels more at home on the consoles, but is a tight, engaging experience nonetheless.
I loved the first
Dead Space, and liked the second, but I played the demo and couldn't help but just
feel bored.
Seconding Cameron's vote, The Evil Within seems like a really good one to watch, with a game that could bring back that great survival horror
feel like the original
Dead Space did early in the current gen. I am also eagerly awaiting details on Destiny and its features that reach beyond the game to keep you interacting on smartphones and in browsers.
I also don't think the original Metroid is an example of bad game design; they were clearly going for the paranoid horror
feeling (just look at that intro and the music), and just didn't have the technical capacity to make it as compelling and flashy as games of today a la
Dead Space.
While many
feel Visceral Games went the wrong route on this third venture,
Dead Space 3 still offers a fun experience that is more action oriented than its last entries.
