The
death of Jesus was a rescue operation where He broke into the prison of our bondage where we were rotting in filth
and decay,
and through His life,
death,
and resurrection, demolished our chains, picked us up on His shoulders,
and carried us to freedom outside of the prison walls.
And when Jesus rose, He gathered His disciples around Himself and told them that through His life, ministry, death, and resurrection, the Kingdom of God on earth had been inaugurated, and they were now His ambassadors to carry the Kingdom forward to the ends of the ear

But, as the same thing only has one beginning of existence, the same person is not raised up, rather a new one is, unless something of me
carries my existence in between
death and the general
resurrection which, as Martha said, happens on the Last Day (Jn 11:24).
Neither the saying on the Cross, «Today you will be with me in paradise» (Luke 23:43), the parable of the rich man, where Lazarus is
carried directly to Abraham's bosom (Luke 16:22), nor Paul's saying, «I desire to die
and to be with Christ» (Philippians 1:23), proves as is often maintained that the
resurrection of the body takes place immediately after the individual
death.
