The ruling comes after the Law Society of Upper Canada applied for a
declaration that the Law Society Act applies to
employees of the Crown (in right of Ontario) who provide legal services, and that Crown
employees who provide legal services to the
public respecting employer conduct prohibited
by the OHSA are not exempt from the LSA paralegal licensing requirement (Bylaw 4).
