They found that a broad range
of insecticides commonly
used in the U.S. kill amphibian parasites, which could potentially
decrease the number
of parasites that amphibians must defend against.
Exposure to linalool, a terpene found in flowers and spice plants,
decreased inflammatory damage in the lungs
of smoke - exposed mice.12 Linalool is found in lavender and basil, and in keeping with terpenes ability to defend against plant prey, is
used by exterminators as an
insecticide.
