its default color settings aren't very accurate, and you'll have to do a fair amount of tinkering to get the best gaming and movie - watching experience.

The screen calibration options enable you to switch to SRBG, DCI - P3, adaptive mode or customize your own

Like other Huawei phones, you can also tune the
color temperature to your liking, although the
default setting is pleasant.
The OnePlus 5T screen is also highly customizable: If you don't like the
default color calibration, there are five screen profiles to choose from, plus
settings to tweak the screen temperature and other display parameters.
And when you're in a dimly - lit environment, Bright Mode brightens the image automatically, resulting in
colors that LG claims are «much more [accurate]» than you'd capture on the
default settings.
This is off by
default, but you can turn it on by toggling this (
Settings > Personalization >
Colors):
You can argue that the
colors are a bit over-saturated and unnatural, but even though there's an option in the
settings to turn down the saturation I leave things at the
default because they just look so good.
Colors appear a little on the cool side by
default, however that's easily remedied in the Display
settings menu.
By tapping
color temperature in the display
settings, you're able to choose from
default, warm, or cold presets, or fine - tune with an entire
color wheel to get exactly the look you want.
A few more minor complaints: you can't see black text previews in notifications since the phone
sets the
color to dark gray instead of the
default white, the
settings icon appears «broken» near the bottom right, and putting the phone into developer mode can be a nightmare.
While the
default, out of the box
settings are already good, Xiaomi has included some
color calibration
settings to tweak the display more to your liking, but in all likelihood, you won't find the need to make many changes.
Other changes include Microsoft Edge being pinned to the desktop by
default, the «Expand» and «Clear all» text in the Action Center now changes
color to match your accent
color in
Settings, and a new
color circle in ease of access.
It also uses Sony's BRAVIA display tech for a wide
color gamut — the
color reproduction looks good by
default, but you can tweak the white balance and
color profile in the
settings to easily get a more vivid or
color accurate display.
At the moment, the updated Google Pixel doesn't have the Picture
color mode sRGB toggle in the Developer options, something that puts it on the same level as the new Pixel 2s that lack the
setting, but this is because they come with the calibrated mode as the
default.
Now look, I feel it's only fair that I admit, yeah, my girlfriend and I have
set custom nicknames, and changed the chat
colors, and picked a new
default emoji in Messenger.
When the display is
set to the standard mode (rather than the
default adaptive mode), the
colors are warmer at 7131k.
When you
set a black wallpaper using the
default launcher, your Quick
Settings menu will automatically change to a darker
color.
Samsung's AMOLED panels have extremely realistic
colors, but they might be a little too vibrant for some people on the
default setting.
In the
default setting, gamma is way off (around 2.5 rather than the standard 2.2) and oversaturation causes detail and nuances in
color to be clipped away, especially in the red and blue channels.
On secondary screen's
default setting, it doesn't shut off — even when you're using the
color touchscreen.
The display was a little too cool out of the box for my taste, but HTC provides a
color profile picker in the display
settings so you can switch between the
default DCI - P3
color space or sRGB.
The panel is tuned to DCI - P3 by
default, but you can monkey with
colors in the
settings, including tweaking white balance and switching to sRGB mode for more accurate
color reproduction.
The ZenFone 2 ships with a «balance»
color setting enabled that offers accurate
colors without too much extra punch, but if you want a bit more out of the display you can hop into the display
settings and choose a reading, vivid or custom mode instead — I personally liked the balance of the
default look.
You can change the
color temperature of the display in the
Settings menu to a little warmer or colder to better suit your tastes, but for me the default settings were good

Standard mode is the
default setting for the display and this ups the vibrancy for a more vivid look and uses Sony's TRILUMINOS
color gamut instead.
Like many other Sony smartphones, the XA2 Ultra offers the ability to easily adjust the screen's white balance,
color gamut, and contrast within the software if the
default out of the box
settings don't quite suit your taste.
Naturally the brightness, vividness and size of the Note 3's display makes it ideal for viewing photos and watching movies, and by
default the device is
set up to automatically adjust
color balance based on the type of content being viewed.
There's an option to tweak the
color balance of the display from the
default vibrant mode — which boosts saturation — to a more realistic
setting on both phones.
The phone's lock screen is
set by
default to randomly cycle through a few dozen preset wallpapers that highlight the display's
color reproduction, and you can add your own or select from different subscriptions to always keep it feeling fresh.

setting delivers rich
colors, impressive dynamic range, decent results in low light situations and camera apps itself is pretty good as well.
Some phones have the option to adjust the screen
colors and temperature but each phone was

That said, there is a «Vivid

setting — enabled by
default — to help make things pop more, but it's hardly noticeable.
The
default settings in terms of
color calibration are perfectly fine, but you do have the option to tweak the
settings more to your liking, with a reading mode that is gentler on the eyes, a vivid mode that drastically increases the saturation, and finally, a manual mode for more granular controls over the display
settings.
Samsung is also
setting the
default emoji skin
color to the standard Simpsons yellow like those found in other emoji
sets.
