Strike is an
objective - based
mode of attacking and
defending points.
I'm a sucker for any co-operative
mode, but it was Assault (tasking you with attacking /
defending a series of
objectives) which was by far my favourite of the three.
It's still a multiplayer shooter about two teams, each fighting over a series of
objectives — attacking,
defending or capturing, depending on the
mode.
Also the trailer displays a new episode of Extinction named Nightfall, which is a co-op survivor
mode against aliens with an
objective to
defend the base.
Aside from co-op
mode, the game supports two - versus - two competitive multiplayer online, where you must
defend or defeat your
objective from the other team.
It's a cool idea for a
mode, but one that doesn't work quite that well because simply eliminating all members of the enemy team will also result in victory, so it usually just comes down to that rather than actually attacking or even
defending the
objective.
Taking your team, teamwork and watching your corners are skills your definitely going to need for Seige, a game
mode which has teams taking it in turn to
defend an
objective while the other team tries to attack it.
Decoy is a rather unusual
mode in which the
defending team has three
objectives to
defend against the attackers, but only one of the
objectives is actually the real one, with the other two being decoys.
The survival
mode is wave based, and the start of each scenario gives you and your partner (if you have one) an
objective to
defend.

mode, one which sees one team trying to
defend a series of
objectives, and one which sees both teams fighting for control of a series of different
objectives.
Overrun in Versus is the other class - based game
mode that pits COG and Locust soldiers in a head - to - head battle of
objectives where both teams» alternate factions to
defend and attack.
The new game
mode is called Frontlines, and the premise is an interesting one: like a game of tug - of - war, you'll need to push through each consecutive
objective (and prevent the enemy team from doing so) in a chain before reaching the enemy HQ point, at which point 2 telegraph poles will have to be destroyed (or
defended) a little like Rush.
Mission

objective; and War which sees both teams attack or
defend a set of
objectives to complete their mission.
The game
modes vary a bit more here as well, as there are
objectives to
defend or people to rescue and the game doesn't just become about fighting the other side.
Crucible contains 5 unique Player vs. Player
modes comprising of two new
modes including Countdown in which a payload must be transported to an
objective in addition to
defending it for a timed duration, although the opposing team will be attacking to prevent the payload from being
defended, alongside Survival were teams can only revive their allies a certain amount of times before their deaths count until the end of the round.
Further multiplayer
modes that are not present from Infinite Warfare include Search and Rescue which sees both teams take turns to
defend and destroy an
objective with the twist being the recovery of dog tags allowing or preventing respawns; Reinforce sees both teams attempting to capture every point in order to win the round with an added incentive being placed on players capturing points to revive fallen teammates; and Gun Game which tasks every player with the
objective of being the first player to score a kill with each of the provided weapons.
The most interesting
mode is Operations where one team
defends an
objective and the other attacks it, in this case in the level Frozen Dam the ISA has to plant charges to blow up the dam and the Helghast have to stop them from soaking their newly dried uniforms.
Scratch One Flattop is a team deathmatch - like
mode with the added
objective of
defending your aircraft carrier and destroying enemies with the bombers and torpedo bombers provided for your team.
The third
mode is called Control, an asymmetric battle in which one team must attack and capture two
objectives, while the other team
defends them.
Countdown
mode has similar attack /
defend objectives, but players get just one life per round, and the teams swap sides midway.
The multiplayer is as you would expect it for a Call OF Duty game, I know a lot of you will purchase the game only to play multiplayer, personally I'm not very good at it but still like to take part, I will always be a «runner up» when playing online multiplayer but like to give it a shot, it comes with all of the usual standard game
modes; Team Deathmatch, Domination, Search and Destroy, Free For All, Capture the flag etc and also has a multiplayer
mode known as war which doesn't really rank you on kills or deaths, it's an
objective based game
mode in which you are usually attacking or
defending and have 3 separate
objectives to complete in order to win whether it be building a bridge or escorting a tank, I found this the most enjoyable out of the standard multiplayer list.
In the cooperative
mode you'll face a few hordes of zombies like this while
defending an
objective.
The other game
mode shown off was Rush, where you and a smaller team are
defending or attacking an
objective.
I love thinking up new strategies for each character on each map in each
mode, finding new and better ways to secure or
defend objectives, and so on.
It's apparently a «team - driven assault and
defend»
mode where Axis and Allied teams go head - to - head to gain and clear «key strategic
objectives».
In this
mode, up to four players must
defend a house from wave after wave of Nazi zombies in a tower defense style format where the
objective is to last as long as possible, repairing areas where zombies are trying to enter.
War is the franchise's first narrative - driven
objective based multiplayer
mode and casts players into one of two camps: attacking or
defending.
Finally there is the cooperative Invaders
mode, where up to four players must
defend an
objective from waves of enemies, a simple concept perhaps, but one that works very well StarBlood Arena's unique... umm, arena.
There's also WWII's new multiplayer
mode, War, where teams alternate attacking or
defending positions across a multiple
objectives.
Every game
mode has an overtime segment, where as long as a member of a the attacking team is on the
objective, the fight will continue and the
defending team will have to fight as hard as they can to get them off of it so that they can secure victory.
