I will
definitely try this, looks scrumptious — I love lamb shanks and
cook them often
in the dutch
oven — but like you, always for a special occasion.
Also watch the
oven time, mine
cooked in 25 minutes and i took the dish out of the
oven and just stirred the spinach through, it
definitely didn't need the 40 minutes it suggested and doesn't need the 5 minutes for the spinach.
You could
definitely make this the day before and then just throw it
in the
oven and
cook it the next day.
If you prefer moderate to thick slices of sweet potato, I'd
definitely stick to
cooking them
in the
oven, which is still my preferred method.
Next time I'd
definitely use a bone -
in piece of meat and either
cook it for 6 - 8 hours
in the crock pot or try roasting it
in the
oven.
I've never used a breadmaker, I've always just
cooked it
in the
oven... but I never thought to use a thermometer to check for doneness — I will

Except you need orange juice, and limes, and a spice blend; plus you usually want to sear it
in a pan, before transferring to the
oven, or slow -
cooker to roast for 6 - 8 hours, and while that's generally fine, sometimes it's Tuesday, and you don't know what you are going to have for dinner, and you are
definitely not going to do all the work for carnitas (unless you decide at the last minute to go out instead to satisfy said craving).
The latter option on the bottom is more commonly found
in older
ovens and is
definitely not a good place to store
cook books — not that we know anything at all about that.
I would
definitely try this
in my new Le Creuset Dutch
oven (I adore Le Creuset and only
cook in it!)!
I also checked our specific
oven cleaning products at the store, and
definitely did not want those ingredients
in my
oven around the food I was
cooking for my family.
I love beetroot cake... and my favourite way to
cook beetroot is
in the
oven so this is a total winner for me and I will
definitely be giving it a try!!
