Spring is finally, finally here in Kansas City — Cookie and I
just went on an epic walk in 60
degree weather, clear skies — and I'm ready to fill up on salads and green things.
And let me tell you, it will be nice to go to some 80
degree weather and get away from the single digits here in Kansas City recently!But... is it
just me, or does anyone else start planning their meals for the week following a long trip before even going on the trip?
I'm sure that when you're sweating it out in 90
degree weather, I would be sitting there telling you to
just put on some shorts and QYB, too.
When the
weather tops 90
degrees, it is really important to stay hydrated (especially if you are working, exercising, or otherwise spending time outside) and here is a great watermelon soup recipe for doing

degrees day AND night (we even saw 97 last Saturday) with humidity up that wazoo and

I always forget
just how fickle March tends to be, and get overly excited for all things spring, when I should
just sit back and enjoy the ride that is 70
degree weather one day, ice and snow the next.
Imagine sea levels rising by feet instead of inches, global average temperatures increasing by many
degrees instead of
just fractions and an increase in other cataclysmic, costly and fatal
weather events.

degrees daily, beautiful blue sky and sun shines beautifull, what a blessing!
In other, more outfit focused news, the above outfit is one I rocked all fall long (I
just had to put away my slides, despite insisting they would be fine in 35
degree weather...).
Spring trends are consistently the most fun but maybe that is
just my inner California girl speaking who craves 80
degree weather and floral sundresses year round.
The
weather here gets wild, and unfortunately every time NYFW rolls around in February, temperatures drop by 30 - 40
degrees just for the week.
