The
scam became well known as a fraud and most people recognized it immediately so they simply
deleted the
email.
So if you put two and two together, a guy gets tons of
scam emails, he goes to
delete them and voila he is listed as «Online Now» several times a day with the resulting «active within 1 hours, 24 hours», ect....
They'll often
delete the profile after exchanging
emails so you're unable to report them if / when you realize it was all a
scam.
Your best defence against
scams is to hang up the phone,
delete the
email or text or destroy the letter if you think it looks even vaguely like a
scam.
This is likely because while the fraudsters are keeping up their efforts to dupe lawyers, more and more lawyers now recognize the
scams and simply
delete the
emails rather than forwarding them to us.
Or just hit
delete, especially if you spot other signs of a
scam in the
email.
DMARC allows a would - be-faked
email server to tell the recipient of a
scam to
delete a fraudulent
email, send it to spam or do nothing at all.
