Expertise, then, is ultimately about using the limited - yet - flexible tool of working memory to
deliberately practice decisions and skills in order to build long - term memory competence.
That is, the validation of a measure like the MDI, which explicitly aims to foster
practices and
decisions in support for children, as a consequence of the measurement process, requires that this aspect be
deliberately evaluated (cf. Guhn et al. 2011).
