Investing in our nation's infrastructure will not only allow the oil and natural gas industry to keep pace with
energy demand, it will also help keep
energy affordable
for the consumer, while creating wellpaying jobs, giving U.S. manufacturers a competitive advantage
through lower
energy and raw material costs and providing revenue to local, state and federal governments.
Still, the company explains that
demand for renewable
energy — as expressed
through voluntary purchases of certificates — will slowly increase the proportion of clean
energy going into the tub.
Realising the full potential of
energy efficiency will require a step - change in investments on the
demand side of the
energy equation, rising to USD 1.7 trillion per year
through 2050, the majority of which is
for energy efficiency and the electrification of transport.
In its annual World
Energy Outlook 2016 report, the International
Energy Agency (IEA) forecasts that coal will remain the largest single source of electricity generation
through to 2040, most of the new
demand for coal will be driven by India and Southeast Asia.
He questioned the ability of these two sectors to attract the necessary investments as well as the need
for as much new nuclear or coal - based capacity as projected, since higher prices are likely to curb

demand for energy, with many Israelis concerned about government plans to make up
for any deficit
through using coal.
