To test this theory, Dr. Mozaffarian and his colleagues measured mercury levels in the stored toenail clippings of 3,427 people with a history of heart disease, heart attack, or stroke, and compared them with an equal number of
demographically similar people without heart problems.
However, the vast majority of
people mate with
demographically similar partners anyway, so such findings aren't especially useful in helping dating sites narrow a client's pool of potential partners.
