But there are two things happening in Silicon Valley that are qualitatively different from New York or London (or pretty much anywhere else): First, the sheer
density of tech entrepreneurs per capita is 10 times greater
than the norm for
other cities, and second, there is a far greater level of information sharing between entrepreneurs here.
New York
City has twice the number of corporations
than other metropolitan areas in the US and the third - highest
density of venture capital after San Francisco and Boston.
The population
density of large
cities might be a reason these claims happen more frequently or be more severe
than in
other areas in California and the country.
For example, the Bronx is the third most heavily populated county in the United States, but even with this
density, almost a quarter of the land is green space and parkland — a much greater ratio of green space to square miles
than the
other four boroughs of New York
City.
