Before debunking any of the evidence
in existence that supports the idea that therapy
dogs are beneficial to people suffering from
depression (or anxiety), let's take a look at the
results from a few recent studies with therapy
dogs.
Dogs ingesting significant amounts of gum or candies solely or largely sweetened with xylitol may develop a sudden drop
in blood sugar,
resulting in depression, vomiting, loss of coordination, seizures and even liver failure.
Some breath - freshening products could also contain the sweetener xylitol, which has the potential to cause a sharp drop

dog's blood sugar,
