With his latest project, the director's approach echoes the textured personal elements of Olivier Assayas in his smaller projects, where implication carries more
depth than dialogue.

Although I found the
dialogues are little bit dry, I got to admit that they give to the characters a
depth greater
than we think.
That an average episode of The O.C. or Everwood possesses more
depth than this certainly doesn't help matters, nor does the decidedly subpar
dialogue by scripter James LaRosa (one character, during a vicious shark attack, exclaims, «this is freakin» nuts!»)
