Writing in The
New York Review
of Books, Joyce Carol Oates described the book as «a
novel of ideas, a compendium
of epiphanies, paradoxes, and riddles clearly
designed to be read slowly and meditatively... this is a unique work
of fiction bearing witness to much that is unspeakable in human relationships as in international relations, while it is also unknowable.»
When the curator Franklin Sirmans was hunting for inspiration for the third edition
of Prospect
New Orleans, the quasi-biennial group show
of contemporary artists that founder Dan Cameron
designed to sprawl across the Big Easy, he looked to a literary beacon: Walker Percy's National Book Award - winning
novel The Moviegoer.
In keeping with the Solomon Guggenheim philosophy
of harmonizing architecture and fine art - as reflected in the
design for the Guggenheim Museum in
New York by Frank Lloyd Wright (1867 - 1959)- the Bilbao museum's avant - garde Deconstructivist
design employs a
novel mix
of materials to create an extraordinary silhouette, juxtaposing strange organic shapes with huge glass walls and regular forms finished in stone and titanium.
Current research efforts in the Heterogeneous Catalysis project involve the
design and study
of new oxygen - and hydrogen - evolving materials and development
of novel surface characterization methods for in situ measurements.
With her solid understanding
of strategy and setting up
new structures, she had been appointed in 2014 as Project Manager at the DIFC Courts, to oversee a
novel development, namely the
design and launch
of the DIFC Wills and Probate Registry.
