In Nusa Lembongan, a small island southeast of Bali, local communities have been quietly nurturing their mangroves, not only as part of a larger effort to preserve coastal resources, but also as a way to
develop ecotourism on the island.
It is located in the midst of raw, majestic wilderness, making it an outdoor paradise with impressive scenery, abundant wildlife and well -
developed ecotourism.
This can mean setting up a conservation area funded through donations,
developing an ecotourism site, selling carbon credits or extracting non-timber forest products such as rattan and bamboo.
