Balsillie hopes to further push its BlackBerry 7 OS devices while focusing efforts on
developing its QNX - based mobile platform for next year.
Well, my guess is that the early limited production BlackBerry Colt units that RIM has been running and
developing QNX on will now become the development phones that they'll show off at BlackBerry DevCon.
For a while, the work of
developing QNX for RIM's products was done in isolation.

Lazaridis is referring to the fact that RIM is
developing a new generation of devices based on the
QNX operating system, which the company calls «super phones.»
RIM has dealt with a number of complex technical challenges over the past few months, mainly

There is simply MORE variety and many companies are phasing out support for the Blackberry
QNX operating system to
develop Apple applications full time.
It is not as simple to
develop for
QNX but you must also use Adobe Air SDK and most people have no clue on how to properly make content with it.
The 7 - inch BlackPad is going to be a touch screen tablet, but for a change, this BlackPad won't be running on the BlackBerry OS, it is believed that this tablet is going to run on a new Operating System which will be
developed by
QNX Software Systems.

QNX.
Rather than task its own in - house Kindle team, Lab 126, to get up to speed on
developing a slate, Amazon supposedly looked to Quanta's existing experience with the PlayBook and the
QNX tablet acted as a «shortcut» of sorts.
«At DevCon today, we're giving developers the tools they need to build richer applications and we're providing direction on how to best
develop their smartphone and tablet apps as the BlackBerry and
QNX platforms converge into our next generation BBX platform.»
Developers can take any game
developed for a POSIX environment and easily bring the code over to the
QNX OS.
