This provides us
with a clue to the difficulties that theologians have when they attempt to enter genuine
dialogue with each
other, or that church school
teachers face
with recalcitrant students.
These preservice
teachers engaged in series of reflective
dialogues blending theory and practice — the hallmark of praxis —
with their classmates,
with other preservice
teachers from around the country, and
with practicing social studies educators from around the world.

other about curriculum, instruction, and student learning
The two faculty members involved in the project placed an emphasis on finding commonalities
with students in ways that open up the possibilities for authentic
dialogues in which both preservice
teachers and host students engaged freely
with each
other while maintaining a particular focus on objectives or goals.
I believe the more
teachers share their expertise
with others and the more they interact
with other stakeholders» findings (creating a cross-silo
dialogue), the more everyone will know about the teaching profession, how difficult it is, the many amazing things
teachers do to help kids learn, etc..
Teachers can easily move back and forth through resources at different points in time, so that information and ideas can be revised and developed through
dialogue and discussion,
with recourse to shared visual records, collectively generated material and
other aids to understanding.
Alongside the focus on teaching they are also honing their skills of
dialogue and feedback as they become recognised Leaders of Learning within the school - empowered and enabled to share their expertise working
with other teachers.
My intention
with this
teacher research project was to bring the concept of co-inquiry to the lead
teachers and give them the opportunity to engage in reflective
dialogue with each
other, building community and strengthening their practice.
To adopt co-inquiry practices,
teachers need to engage in
dialogue with each
other and reflect.
Recently I have been engaged in a conversation /
dialogue by email
with some folks in Ireland that has make it even more clear to me that many / most people do not understand the difference I define between «sponsorship» and «leader /
teacher / facilitator» (or whatever
other word might be used).
