The trick to making this
cover work is using the preemie size
diaper underneath.
What did
work was: Kawaii Newborn Pure and Natural pocket

covers (with hook and loop) These
diapers both have hook and loop closures rather than snaps around the waist, so it was possible to get a tight enough fit to make up for some of the gapping around the thigh.
For one thing, I have mostly pockets with microfiber inserts, plus four bamboo / cotton inserts, one fitted
diaper, one Bummis
cover and a pair of shorts that
work as a
cover in a pinch!
Of course you can use a fastener but it
works ok to wrap and tuck since a wrap style
diaper cover put over it helps to hold it together.
Charlies Soap Laundry Powder is free from Sodium laureth sulfate (SLS) and other nasty ingredients, and is often recommended for cleaning cloth
diapers so it'll
work wonders for spot cleaning your mattress
cover.
I always felt my wool first before
working with it to get a sturdy and tight weave that is excellent for a wool
diaper cover.
A fitted
diaper and
cover with wool shorties or Longines definitely was the thing that finally
worked first.

diaper on (folded — I prefer kite folds for nights), then a PUL
cover (something suitable for Fitted

work), and then wool pants (I'm now in love with Humbird, but I used Disana back in the day)

I have seen parents get a stash of 24
diaper changes in flats and Wolbybug
covers (they have elasticized flaps to tuck in a pad-folded flat, so not really much more
work than stuffing pockets, AND they don't need to be unstuffed) for under $ 70.
I use these doublers, a large pre-fold and a wool
cover for my little one's overnight
diapers, all purchased from Cloth - eez and they are
working out for us really well.
I bought these
diapers specifically for overnight use with my snappi's and Kissa's
