If you do use ointments, you might need to strip the
diapers each time they are
washed to avoid
diaper leaks and stink
issues.
I had the
issue with velcro tabs not sticking to the laundry tabs when
washing and the
diapers would get all tangled up together.
If you think your cloth
diapers have a detergent residue
issue, you can strip them by doing a half dozen
washes with hot water and no detergent, and then drying them your clothes dryer.
We also use / used all of the cloth
diaper detergents we sell with great success and do recommend these when a parent wants to
wash their
diapers with a more natural detergent or for those who have
issues with mainstream detergents.
They have also
washed up nicely - we've had
issues with stink in some of our other overnight
diapers, but not these.

I do have
diapers that were
washed in regular detergent and bleach before I learned, the PUL is gone, the elastics went sooner than others and the inserts are almost paper thin, but some I have had for almost 4 years
washed in Rockin Green have good elastic, thicker inserts, PUL is fine and I have no leak
